NFDC Celebrates Success at 84th Annual General Meeting and Awards Ceremony

London, 26 March 2025 – The National Federation of Demolition Contractors (NFDC) proudly hosted its 84th Annual General Meeting (AGM) and Awards Ceremony on 21 March 2025 at the prestigious Royal Lancaster London. The event brought together corporate members, industry service providers, and esteemed colleagues to reflect on the past year’s achievements and set the course for future endeavours.

Annual General Meeting Highlights
The AGM commenced with a comprehensive review of the NFDC’s accomplishments over the past year, emphasising the Federation’s commitment to industry excellence and innovation. Members engaged in meaningful discussions, reinforcing the NFDC’s role in shaping the future of the demolition sector.

Leadership Announcements
A significant highlight of the AGM was the announcement of new leadership appointments:

  • Adrian Corrigan BSc MRICS MIDE has been appointed as the new President of the NFDC. With over 12 years of dedicated service as Divisional Director at GBM Demolition and active involvement with the Institute of Demolition Engineers (IDE), Adrian brings a dynamic and forward-thinking approach to the role.
  • Mark Nicholls MIDE of Apex Demolition has been named Vice President. With over 25 years of experience in the demolition industry, Mark is committed to upholding the NFDC’s core community values and ensuring that the Federation’s priorities are exemplified by its members.
  • Robert Collard of Collard Group Ltd will serve as Second Vice President. Robert brings a wealth of experience in demolition and waste management, consistently emphasising safety and sustainability across all his projects.

Additionally, John Lynch MIDE, founder of NEWLINE MIDLANDS LIMITED, has been honoured with the title of Honorary Lifetime Vice President (HLVP) in recognition of his invaluable contributions to the Federation and the demolition industry over the past 50 years.

Awards Ceremony
The afternoon transitioned into the highly anticipated Awards Ceremony, celebrating excellence and innovation within the demolition industry. The NFDC extended heartfelt congratulations to all winners and highly commended individuals and teams whose dedication continues to drive the industry forward.

Special recognition was given to John Lynch, NFDC Honorary Lifetime Vice President, who received the Outstanding Contribution Award for his exceptional service to the industry. The NFDC also expressed gratitude to guest speaker Matt Le Tissier, whose engaging and humorous anecdotes from his career at Southampton FC and life in the spotlight added a unique touch to the afternoon.

Charitable Contributions
Demonstrating the industry’s generosity, attendees participated in the Charity Raffle, raising an impressive £12,000 for the Douglas Macmillan Hospice (Dougie Mac). Special thanks were extended to Central Demolition Ltd, Fenchurch Insurance Brokers, and Brown and Mason Group Limited for their support in the charity auction.
