The National Federation of Demolition Contractors (NFDC) has celebrated another successful Annual Convention, bringing members, partners and industry guests together in Estoril, Portugal, for a weekend of industry discussion, networking and fundraising.

Held from 28–31 August at the Palácio Estoril Hotel, the NFDC Convention 2026 provided an important opportunity for the demolition community to come together, strengthen relationships and reflect on the issues and priorities shaping the sector.

A major highlight of the weekend was the Convention charity auction, which raised an impressive £16,600 for charitable causes. The result reflected the generosity of NFDC members and guests and the strong sense of community that continues to sit at the heart of the Federation.

The Convention’s Business Meeting formed a key part of the programme, giving members an update on the Federation’s work and progress throughout the year.

The meeting also provided an opportunity to look ahead and reaffirm the Federation’s commitment to bringing together demolition contractors from across the UK who meet recognised standards of competence, compliance and professionalism, while continuing to support members and promote best practice.

Alongside the business programme, delegates enjoyed a packed social schedule, creating valuable opportunities for members, partners and guests to connect in a more informal setting and strengthen relationships across the industry.

NFDC President Adrian Corrigan said:

“It was fantastic to see so many members, partners and guests come together for this year’s Convention. These events are about much more than the programme itself; they give us the opportunity to share experiences, build relationships and celebrate the strong community we have within the NFDC.

“I was particularly proud of the generosity shown during our charity auction. Raising £16,600 is a fantastic achievement and a real credit to everyone who supported it. I would especially like to thank our members for their continued support, participation and contribution to the Federation. Their commitment is at the heart of what makes the NFDC community so strong.

“I would also like to thank all those who joined us in Portugal, our sponsors for their continued support, and everyone involved in making the event such a success.”

The Convention also welcomed guests from across the wider international community, including Patrick Frye, President of the European Demolition Association (EDA), whose participation further strengthened the international dimension of the event.

NFDC would like to thank members and Convention sponsors Fenchurch, Green Power, Hirox, NDTG and Recmat for their valued support, along with everyone who contributed to planning and delivering the event.

Following another successful Convention, the NFDC now looks ahead to the remainder of 2026 and its continued work to support members.
